Many people discount Hooponopono because it is so easy to do. They may say to themselves -- this is too easy, it can not work. Yet, they do not even try to follow the guidance of Dr. Hew Len or Mabel Katz which is "just do it" (like Nike says).
My own understanding of why it works is this (and this is my own opinion).
Our life reflects our thoughts. If we constantly have bad thoughts, either by obsessing on past happenings or worrying about the future, that is what may come about.
When we use Hoopononpono, we are disrupting the "bad thoughts" and realigning our thought patterns -- turning bad thoughts into a smoother new thought pattern. We also become much more aware of our thoughts and can STOP the bad thoughts from constantly playing, and playing.
Dr. Hew Len says that we are really not capable of understanding why Hooponopono works -- it just does. We are not capable (yet) because we have not evolved to the level of being able to understand it.
Like many things in life, we must have faith that it does work. It certainly Does Not hurt you to do it. Once you make it a habit, it becomes almost effortless.
